WHS consultants, embedded in your team.

Most consultants deliver a report and move on. KLB Consulting Group stays embedded in your business, building safer workplaces, stronger systems and long-term capability that supports sustainable growth.

Is your current WHS approach built to last?

What is safety compliance?

What safety compliance means for a business operating on real sites

Safety compliance means your systems, your people and your records can withstand scrutiny at any time, not only when an inspection happens to be scheduled.
For construction and infrastructure work specifically, an experienced WHS consultant brings risk, contractors and documentation together under one properly managed system.

Risk Assessment

Hazards and exposure across your sites are assessed before any controls are put in place.

WHS Documentation

SWMS, risk assessments and WHS management plans are developed to suit your actual sites.

Contractor Compliance

Subcontractors are onboarded, verified and tracked before they are permitted on site.

Audits & Inspections

Site audits and inspections are conducted regularly, with corrective actions followed through.

Incident Investigation

ICAM-led investigation and root cause analysis are applied whenever an incident occurs.

Ongoing Improvement

Systems are reviewed and refined on an ongoing basis as your risk profile evolves.

Who we are

One embedded team for WHS and contractors

KLB Consulting Group is a team of WHS consultants who work embedded within your business, not from the sidelines. Across construction, civil infrastructure, telecommunications and government projects, we bring WHS and compliance, contractor management, document control and client-side representation together under one team, so nothing falls through the gaps between separate providers. Most consultants deliver a report and move on. We stay on the ground with you until the job is done.

Why KLB

Why an embedded WHS consultant serves you better

Most WHS consultants deliver a report and move on. We remain embedded within your business, maintaining compliance continuously over time.

An embedded partner, not a one-off report

We remain part of your business over the long term, building systems and capability rather than simply delivering findings.

Genuine construction and infrastructure specialisation

We understand how construction, civil and infrastructure projects actually operate, across every site and stage.

Client-side representation, not just advice

We act on-site as your representative, coordinating trades and monitoring compliance, rather than handing over a report and leaving delivery to you.

Our approach

How an embedded engagement gets delivered

Our process runs from an initial assessment through to a fully embedded system that your own team ultimately owns and operates going forward.

Site & Risk Review

Hazards, existing controls and your current compliance position are assessed across every active site.

Documentation Audit

Existing WHS management plans, SWMS and records are reviewed carefully against legislation requirements.

Contractor Register Check

Contract management and prequalification are handled through full system audits conducted against ISO 45001 or OFSC standards, so every contractor on your register is assessed to a recognised benchmark, not just checked off a list.

Scope & Roadmap

Priority actions are agreed with you and the implementation scope is defined clearly from the outset.

WHS Documentation Build

SWMS, risk assessments and WHS management plans are developed specifically for your actual sites.

Contractor Onboarding

Onboarding and verification processes are established to manage subcontractor compliance properly.

Client Representation Setup

Scope of representation, reporting lines and coordination points with other trades are established before delivery begins.

Management System Setup

ISO-aligned quality, environmental and WHS management systems are properly established from the start.

Site Inspections

Regular site inspections and compliance checks are carried out across all active projects.

ISO & Compliance Audits

Structured audits are conducted against ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 requirements on a fixed schedule.

On-Site Representation

We attend site as your representative, providing day-to-day oversight and coordinating other trades as needed.

Document Control Systems

Version control, registers and workflow are maintained properly across all project documentation.

Incident Investigation

ICAM investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions are applied whenever required.

Contract Administration

Variations and subcontractor documentation are managed properly throughout the entire project.

Track Corrective Actions

Corrective actions arising from audits and inspections are tracked through until closed out fully.

Continuous Improvement

Systems are refined over time as your projects, sites and risk profile continue to evolve further.

FAQ

Common questions,
considered answers

Here are the questions clients ask most often before deciding to formally engage our services.

What does a WHS consultant actually do day to day?

A WHS consultant develops and manages the documentation, contractor checks and site systems required to keep a business compliant with WHS legislation, but just as importantly, trains and mentors everyone in the business, from field staff through to executive leadership, so compliance and safety become part of how people work, not a bolt-on.
One-off consultants deliver a report and depart. An embedded consultant such as KLB remains within your business, builds your systems and continues managing them, so compliance does not lapse once the engagement is invoiced.
We work across high-risk environments of every kind: construction, civil infrastructure, telecommunications, government, warehousing and transport, as well as sectors with their own distinct risk profile, including schools, healthcare and support services.
Our Lead Auditor qualification is accredited through Exemplar Global and covers ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, while our Lead Investigator qualification covers ICAM. Together, these mean audits and incident investigations are handled to a recognised professional standard.
Insurances, licences and certifications are checked before subcontractors commence work, backed by full system audits against ISO 45001 or OFSC standards. Registers are kept current so your compliance position holds throughout the project, not only at the outset.
This depends on the size of your operation and how much WHS documentation already exists. We assess this properly during your initial consultation, so expectations are clear before any work begins.
A Client Representative acts on your behalf on site, overseeing WHS and contractor compliance day to day, and coordinating other trades or specialist providers your project needs, so you’re not managing multiple relationships directly.
